The Guinness Partnership is keen to hear from local people and businesses about the draft proposals for the Matalan site.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 epidemic it will not be possible to hold public consultation events, but we have created other ways for people to have their say.
The best way to give us your views or ask any questions about the proposals is to complete the response form on this page. The design team will consider every piece of feedback we receive and we will answer any questions as soon as we can.
The planning application will be submitted to Stevenage Borough Council in Autumn 2020. This is a supplementary planning application known as ‘Reserved Matters’ dealing with detailed design matters only, as the Matalan site was granted planning permission several years ago for 526 new homes and 1,700 sq. m of commercial space.
The design team has not finalised the details of this Reserved Matters Application and your views and comments will be taken into account prior to the planning submission. The visuals showing how the finished development might look are early stage and subject to change. We will be sharing new, more detailed images as they become available.
Once the planning application has been received by the Council, they will carry out their own consultation exercise and will invite comments. This will then allow the public the full opportunity to comment on the proposals submitted for planning approval.
To help everyone understand the proposals, we have put together some information on key aspects of what is intended for the site. You can download and view these by clicking on the button below.
We would welcome your views and comments on the draft proposals for the Matalan site. Please use the response form below, which can also be used to ask us any questions you may have. We’ll consider every response we receive and respond to any questions as soon as we can.
